Three talented singer-songwriters from right here in Portland will be teaming up for an evening of stories and song at Blue tonight. Beginning at 6 Max Garcia Conover, Griffin Sherry and Max Davis converge upon the stage of for a show featuring their original roots, Americana and folk compositions.
Blue welcomes back the Kelly Laurence Quartet to the stage for an evening of jazz tunes. Tonight’s show gets underway at 8 o’clock.
Legendary extreme metal trio Absu will be playing in Maine for the first time ever tonight as they bring the thunder to the stage of SPACE Gallery. Joining these monsters of black and death metal will be Portland’s own metal music makers Shabti, Hessian, and Feral. It’s going to get wicked loud and wicked awesome as this 18+ show starts up at 8.
Portland House of Music and Events’ musical series, Under The Influence rolls on tonight with some great tunes from two local acts. The series, which showcases Maine bands’ original compositions as well as covers from acts that have helped influence their sound and songs, is both very fun and super insightful. Tonight local punk rockers Seasonal Disorders team up with indie rock trio Mirth for a night of tuneage. Things get underway at 9 and will showcase not only original jams from each band, but also renditions of songs by such artists as The Buzzcocks, Arctic Monkeys, The Damned and more, so be sure to stop by tonight and check things out!
Check out tonight’s Open Mic geared towards DJs and producers at Flask Lounge on Spring Street. This weekly event allows record spinners to take a chance up on the decks alongside local DJ and host Kid Ray. All you need to participate are some records, CDs and a controller. All formats of music are welcome as things get cranking right around 9.
Bull Feeney’s acoustic Open Mic night with local folk-pop artist, Jacob McCurdy continues tonight down in the Old Port. Join in on the fun as Jacob invites any and all musicians onto the stage to show off their musical prowess starting at 9:30.
