The Maine State Pier welcomes Flogging Molly with Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and Chuck Ragan tonight


It’s time to do it to it once again this Tuesday as there’s a ton of cool stuff happening all around town and beyond, so hike up those Party Pants and get ready to throw down tonight at such fun shows as Michael Krapovicky at The Porthole, Russell at Blue, Downeast Soul Coalition at Portland Lobster Company, The Dapper Gents Duo at The Brunswick, Class Reunion at Empire, Ice Cold Zima at Portland House of Music and more!


Pop-rock and rollers Alex Roy and Matt Libby will be performing a set of original tunes and cover songs at Champions tonight. This event is free and sure to be fun so swing through if you’re in the area this Tuesday as the music starts up at 9 o’clock.


Local folk-pop act the Dapper Gents Duo will be bringing some good times and good tunes to The Brunswick this afternoon as they play a free show starting at 1 o’clock.


Everybody’s favorite soul singing dude Lyle Divinsky is ready to lay down some smooth soul, cool funk and rapturous R&B during another free, all ages show out on the patio of Portland House of Music this evening. Lyle will be serenading you from 4pm to 7pm so be sure to stop through and enjoy some killer tunes in the summer sun.

Flogging Molly will be hitting the stage of the Maine State Pier in Portland tonight with their punk-rock laden Irish jams alongside special guests Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and Chuck Ragan. Things get lively during tonight’s all-ages event starting right around 5:30.

Blue welcomes Trikala back tonight. The act draws their influences from Carnatic Music (South India’s  classical music tradition) and jazz and features an assortment of Western instruments including alto saxophone, guitar, and keyboards. Stop in beginning at 6 as these musicians blend Western timbres, Eastern melody, and rhythm to create evocative compositions steeped in tradition with a contemporary twist.

The Porthole welcomes Michael Krapovicky for an evening of acoustic pop-rock originals and covers out on the deck. Michael will get the good times and tunes rollin’ along at 6 during this free event.

Portland Lobster Company welcomes back local act Downeast Soul Coalition to the deck for a Tuesday night party chock full of some solid funk and soul sounds. This free, all ages shindig will get shaking right around 6:30.

Russell, a new act out of Portland that takes compositions from jazz and other musical genres on a live musical journey, will be playing some original songs as well as some tunes from Sonny Sharrock’s song collection are at Blue on Congress Street tonight. Join the band a they take to the stage right around 8 o’clock this Tuesday.

Rhythm & Tues, the Empire’s new summer music series, rolls on tonight with house band the Class Reunion. The band features a ton of talented local players performing a bunch of fun throwback funk, blues, and R&B covers. The party starts upstairs at 9 o’clock.

Another Open DJ Night is happening at Flask Lounge. Beginning at 9, you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open decks. All you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones. This event is absolutely free and always a good time, so go on and check it out.

90’s cover band Ice Cold Zima will be rockin’ their regular Tuesday night gig at Portland House of Music and Events. Time travel with some cover tunes of No Doubt, Fiona Apple, The Cardigans, 4 Non Blondes, Green Day, Lauryn Hill, Bonnie Raitt, Stone Temple Pilots, Alanis Morissette, and more as things get jumpin’ right around 9.

Bull Feeney’s acoustic Open Mic night with local folk-pop artist, Jacob McCurdy continues tonight. Join in on the creative fun as Jacob invites any and all musicians to the stage to perform beginning at 9:30.


Uke n’ Smile is hosting another Open Mic at Sea Dog Brewing Company this Tuesday. Starting at 8 any and all musicians are welcome to play some tunes, or if you can’t actually play an instrument, you can sing with the fellas in Uke n’ Smile as they play the music for you. It’s free, fun, and yummy drinks and food are available as well so if you’re in the area tonight be sure to stop by and check things out.

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.
