The State Theatre welcomes Ani DiFranco and special guest Chastity Brown tonight

The good news is that it’s already Tuesday! (Look, I’m trying to find optimism wherever I can this week…) Tuesday night is no slouch when it comes to partying so hike up those Party Pants and get out there this evening because it’ll be Wednesday before you know it! Let loose at such shows as Ron Bergeron at Fast Breaks, Zeile August at Blue, Viva & The Reinforcements at Crooners & Cocktails, Ani DiFranco After Party with Jya Marie & Friends at Empire, Balance and Composure, Foxing & Mercury Girls at Port City Music Hall and more.

If you’re in the Lewiston/Auburn area this evening check out a performance from local musician Ron Bergeron as he returns to Fast Breaks. Ron will be getting things started right around 6 with tons great covers from The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and more.

Iconic feminist, folk-based singer-songwriter, accomplished guitarist, indie label owner, and the epitome of the D.I.Y. ethos, Ani DiFranco is in town for a performance at the historic State Theatre. Soulful Americana singer-songwriter Chastity Brown will start things off tonight as this all ages show begins at 8.

Local jazz artist Viva will be joined by her band The Reinforcements for an evening of jazz standards at Crooners & Cocktails tonight. This swinging shindig gets shaking at 8.

Another Open DJ Night is happening at Flask Lounge.  Starting at 9, you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open tables and all you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones! This event is absolutely free and always a good time, so go on and check it out.

Check out a free show at Gritty’s tonight as roots rocker Travis James Humphrey plays a set starting up at 9.

Join Jya Marie & Friends immediately following Ani DiFranco’s show at State Theater for a very special after party at Empire. Tons of local talent will take the stage starting at 10pm to perform a two hour set of DiFranco’s biggest hits through the years including tracks from So Much Shouting, So Much Laughter, Not a Pretty Girl, Dilate, Little Plastic Castle, and much more.
