I don’t know what the what is, but I can’t seem to fully get it together and am counting down the moments until the weekend arrives. Another Wednesday night of roots rockin’ happens over at Champions tonight with a free show that starts up at 9:30 with local musician Travis James Humphrey.
Singer Viva will be bringing her vivacious vocals back to Frontier alongside her talented band The Reinforcements for an evening of jazz standards, funk, soul, and Latin tunes. This free and fun show starts up at 7:30pm.
Folk-rock outfit Rippleton Cross hosts another open mic at Cole Farms tonight. The pair will be performing some tunes as well as encouraging others to get up on the microphone for some musical merriment and creative fun as this free and all ages gathering gets started at 7pm.
Another opportunity to unwind with some great acoustic roots tunes happens again over at Andy’s as David Beam & Friends return for another free, all ages show that’ll start up at 8pm.
The State Theatre hosts a midweek party featuring some awesome punk, ska, pop, reggae, and alt-rock sounds as Pepper, Less Than Jake, The Bunny Gang and The Attack join forces for some all-ages fun. Things get rocking and/or rolling right around 7 o’clock.
Blue’s Irish Concert Series rolls on this Wednesday evening with a featured performance by The Page Turners. Music starts at 7:30 and will be followed by a midweek Irish Session that is open to any and all musicians looking to get up on stage and jam.
Local folk artist Dave Rowe will be performing at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port tonight. Join Rowe for some rollicking good times as this free show gets underway at 8pm.
Tonight SPACE Gallery welcomes eclectic, genre-bending solo artist Sinkane back to Portland. Sinkane will be joined by the incomparable songstress Mal Devisa and the rhythms of Portland’s own post-modern beat master Mosart212. Things get underway at 8:30pm.
Add some folk-pop goodness to your Wednesday as the Dapper Gents Duo as they return to the stage of RiRa for another free show that’ll get underway at 9.
The Maine Dead Project returns to the stage of Portland House of Music and Events tonight as part of their weekly residency. These talented local musicians will be bringing the sounds of the Grateful Dead to life starting right around 9 o’clock so swing through and check ‘em out if you’re downtown this Wednesday evening.
More midweek fun will be happening at Crooners & Cocktails tonight as Hello Clarice brings some fun tunes to your Wednesday. Hello Clarice features the vocal stylings of Clarence “Jim” Roberts of Hello Newman and the musical mastery of pianist Mike Maurice as they play everything from Frank Sinatra to Billy Ocean. The pair prepares to perform beginning at 9:30pm.
Local artist Pete Witham returns to Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza tonight for some fun Americana and rockabilly tunes that are guaranteed to help you hurdle the hump this Wednesday. Pete will be joined by his regular rotating cast of musically inclined characters as this free, all-ages performance gets underway right around 7 o’clock.
Maine-based adult-contemporary folk rock artist Don Campbell returns to The Frog and Turtle tonight for a free, all-ages show that will start at 7:30pm.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am.
