So Monday was actually surprisingly less painful than I had anticipated – I hope the same was true for all you cats as well. It also looks as though Tuesday is shaping up to be pretty decent too. I know it’s still fairly early in the week, but there’s always a party going on somewhere around, so get it together and check it out! Tons of tunes to take in tonight including the Hardy Brothers Indian Ensemble at Blue, Ronda Dale at Andy’s Old Port Pub, Open Mic with Jacob McCurdy at Bull Feeney’s, Jason Mancine at The Rack and more.
Take in an acoustic set from local singer-songwriter Jason Mancine as he plays a free show up at The Rack starting at 7 o’clock tonight.
Blue welcomes back the Hardy Brothers Indian Ensemble this evening. The act draws from Carnatic Music (South India’s classical music tradition) and jazz and features an assortment of Western instruments including alto saxophone, guitar, and keyboards, but its harmony and melody is based on the Carnatic raga and tala system. The musicians blend Western timbres, Eastern melody, and rhythm to create evocative compositions steeped in tradition with a contemporary twist. You can check them out live as things get underway at 6:30pm.
Check out a free show from local singer-songwriter Ronda Dale at Andy’s Old Port Pub in the Old Port. Beginning at 7pm, Ronda will be filling to space with some delightful sounds during this all-ages acoustic performance.
