Portland House of Music and Events’ musical series, Under The Influence rolls on this Tuesday. The series which showcases local band’s original compositions alongside cover tunes from acts that have helped influence the band’s sound along the way is both fun and informative. Tonight local act Johnny Cremains brings their intense live performance which mixes slow heavy, riffs with piano, sharp vocals, and dark imagery for a sort of lounge-act-from-hell feel (in a good way of course) to the stage alongside Portland’s own all-female power-pop, rock and roll outfit Tiger Bomb. Things get underway at 9 with both original songs and covers from such influences as The Sweet, Portishead, The Creation, Oingo Boingo, Angelo Badalamenti and more.
