King Gizzard & The Wizard Lizard get weird at Port City Music Hall tonight

As much as I don’t want to, it is time to saddle up for another working week. We might as well make the most out of our Monday and make it decidedly less lame by checking out some fun events all around town and beyond, so here we go! Take in tunes tonight at such shows as Six Organs of Admittance with Asa Irons at SPACE Gallery, Andrew Bailie & Friends bring another Mothership Monday to Portland House of Music and Events, Michael Krapovicky hosts an open mic at Pedro O’Hara’s and more.

Local jam band Hambone will be hosting an open jam tonight at Easy Street Lounge. Tonight they welcome any and all musicians to join them for some musical merriment as this free shindig gets swinging at 9 o’clock.

Local pop-rock musician Michael Krapovicky returns to Pedro O’Hara’s to host another open mic event. Join in on the musical revelry as this all ages gathering gets underway around 6:30pm.

Frank Donovan of Maine rock-reggae act Brothers Donovan goes solo tonight with an acoustic performance at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street. Starting right around 7 Frank will be singing some songs that are certain to ease the pain of another Monday so swing through and have some fun if you’re out and about this evening.

Psych-folk visionary guitarist Ben Chasny returns to Portland tonight with his musical endeavor Six Organs of Admittance. Tonight’s show at SPACE Gallery will begin at 8 with an opening set by Maine’s own enigmatic songsmith, Asa Irons.

Freaked-out psychedelic madness of Melbourne, Australia makes it way to Portland tonight as King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard get weird on stage at Port City Music Hall tonight. I’m pretty sure this is a show not to be missed so make some plans to get there at 8 o’clock tonight as King Gizzard’s fellow Down Under tour mates Orb and Stonefield start things off with opening sets during this 18+ event.

Mothership Mondays with Andrew Bailie & Crew continue tonight at Portland House of Music and Events. Get down with Bailie and friends as they funk up your Monday with some super fun jams starting at 9pm.

Higher Level Movement presents a night of hip-hop, R&B and reggae tunes from the 90’s and 00’s at Flask Lounge. This free dance party gets underway at 9pm.
